Support

Help with your ledger, iCloud, and subscriptions. Start with the steps below and keep a backup before making changes to your data.

Restore a purchase

  • Open Maal’s subscription screen and choose Restore Purchases.
  • Check that the App Store uses the Apple Account that bought the subscription. The App Store account can differ from the account used for iCloud.
  • If access is still missing, check the subscription with Apple, allow the app to reconnect, and contact support with the app version and the message shown. Do not buy again just to troubleshoot.

Check iCloud sync safely

Sync behavior on Mac, iPhone, iPad must be checked against the final released builds. These steps do not require you to share your financial records.

  • Check the storage and sync status shown in Maal. An On My Mac ledger does not sync.
  • Confirm that each device uses the same iCloud Apple Account, that iCloud is available for Maal, and that the devices have a working connection and available storage.
  • Keep Maal open and allow time for changes to arrive. If the app reports read-only access or an unavailable store, use its retry option and note the exact message.
  • Back up or export the records you can access. Do not erase the ledger, restore over it, remove iCloud data, or sign out of iCloud as a quick sync fix. Contact support first if the copies do not agree.

Keep access to your records

A lapsed subscription does not delete your records. The subscription screen keeps Back Up and Export available, and iCloud sync continues. Save a copy before a restore or any deliberate erasure.

A backup and a CSV export serve different purposes. Keep the original backup file when you need a restorable copy, and keep exported files somewhere you control.

Manage or cancel a subscription

Use the Apple Account that purchased the plan. On Mac, open the App Store, select your name, open your account, and choose Subscriptions. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings > your name > Subscriptions. Select Maal and review the available actions.

Apple shows the next renewal or expiry date. Deleting Maal or erasing its data does not cancel a subscription. Refund requests go to Apple.

Notifications, Spotlight, and privacy

Review Maal’s notification preferences and the system’s notification-preview settings if record names should not appear on your lock screen. Local notifications do not include amounts.

Account and goal names appear in Maal’s Spotlight index only if you enable the option in Privacy & Security. Turn it off to remove those indexed items. For deliberate ledger deletion, follow the privacy page and read every confirmation.
